Summary: The Meristem Golf Classic Open tournament was the first to be played on the Professional Golf Development (PGD) Tour. The inaugural tournament in January 2023 featured 83 professional players and category one amateur golfers from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire and Zimbabwe chasing a total prize money of N10million Naira. Nigeria’s Francis Epe of Ikoyi Club 1938 was the inaugural winner.
